Payment Terms & Hiring Disclaimer

How platform fees, payments, refunds, and your hiring responsibilities work.
1. Platform fee
Rellim PayKonnect charges a platform fee on each invoice you approve and pay. The current fee is seven percent (7%) of the invoice subtotal. The fee is added on top of the substitute's subtotal and is shown on the invoice detail page before you authorize the payment. You always see the total amount you will be charged before you click Pay.
Substitutes always receive the full approved subtotal. The platform fee is your cost, not the substitute's.
We may change the platform fee going forward with reasonable notice. Any fee change applies only to invoices sent after the change; historical invoices keep their original fee.
2. Payment authorization
When you click Pay on an invoice, you authorize Rellim PayKonnect (via Stripe) to charge the payment method you provide for the total shown, including the platform fee. If a Substitute's connected bank account or Stripe payout account requires action before the transfer can complete, we will hold the funds and notify both parties.
You are responsible for keeping a valid payment method on file. If a payment fails (insufficient funds, expired card, etc.) you agree to promptly correct the issue and pay the outstanding invoice.
3. Payment window
Invoices are payable within thirty (30) days of the substitute sending them, unless you and the substitute agree in writing to a different schedule. Overdue invoices may accrue reminders. Chronic non-payment may result in suspension of your account.
4. Refunds and disputes
If you believe an invoice is incorrect, contact the substitute directly to resolve it before paying. Once an invoice is paid, you may request a refund through the Platform for legitimate reasons (services not rendered, duplicate charge, agreed-upon adjustment, etc.). Refunds may be full or partial and will reverse the corresponding portion of the platform fee.
Chargebacks initiated with your card issuer bypass this process and are governed by card network rules. Because chargebacks are costly and disruptive, we strongly prefer that you use the Refund flow inside the Platform. Repeated chargebacks may result in account suspension.
5. Hiring is your responsibility
Rellim PayKonnect is a payment and invoicing tool. We do not vet, background-check, license-verify, train, certify, or supervise the substitutes who use the Platform. You, the Daycare, are solely responsible for:
(a) running any required background check on any substitute you hire, in compliance with your state's childcare licensing rules;
(b) verifying that the substitute holds any required credentials, certifications, or clearances;
(c) supervising the substitute while they are working at your facility;
(d) complying with all applicable childcare licensing, staffing ratio, minimum wage, and safety laws.
6. No employment relationship
Nothing about your use of the Platform makes Rellim Kid Kare Konnect, LLC or its administrators your employer, your co-employer, or a joint employer of any substitute. Nothing about your use of the Platform makes you the employer of Rellim Kid Kare Konnect, LLC's administrators.
Whether a substitute you hire through the Platform is an employee or an independent contractor of your daycare is determined by the actual working relationship between you and the substitute and by applicable law. That determination is your responsibility, not the Platform's.
7. Liability
Rellim Kid Kare Konnect, LLC is not responsible for the quality of work performed by any substitute, for injuries to children in the substitute's care, for property damage, or for any other loss arising from the substitute's conduct or from your hiring decisions. Your remedies for any such loss are against the substitute and (where applicable) their insurance, not against the Platform.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your account for repeated non-payment, chargeback abuse, fraudulent invoices, violation of these terms, or any conduct that puts children, substitutes, or the Platform at risk.
